The fruits in this box were grown on the same farms that supplied the durians in our boxes.

When a single farm grows many types of plants together, this is called Intercropping.  Supporting intercropped farms as opposed to monocropped farms is one of the best ways to support biodiversity.

If you want to create a box of mixed fruits AND durians,  head over to the All Frozen Page to build your own box of everything we have available!

  • J33 Nangka Madu Jackfruit 400g

The "honey jackfruit" of Malaysia, this one has a uniquely firm but pliable texture that packs a sugary punch. It's very sweet and has more of a honeyed or syrupy sweetness compared with other jackfruits, which are more juicy and floral but often not as sweet. This is NOT a soft/slippery jackfruit. It's somewhere in between.

  • Cempedak King 400g 🇲🇾

Intensely sweet and juicy, this cempedak-jackfruit hybrid from Penang has large, vibrant orange pieces that tastes somewhere between caramel and bubblegum. Includes seeds which you can cook!

Comparing Intercropping and Monocropping is like comparing a 30-floor high-rise apartment to a single-story home.

From shady ground crops to the sun-kissed canopy, each level of an intercropped farm creates a unique habitat for insects, birds, bacteria, fungi, and small mammals.  It’s a busy apartment complex, each biome stacked on top of the other. The various canopy levels literally increase the surface area available for creatures to live, meaning that on the same square of land, an intercropped farm can fit 30 or more apartments instead of just one or two houses.

Intercropped farms grow many types of crops because the farm typically produces food for the family that lives there as well as a cash crop to give the family money.

These farms are just 1 or 2 hectares or sometimes even smaller.  Because the family lives on the property, intercropped farms use fewer pesticides, artificial fertilizers and other chemicals.

These are all reasons why we have chosen to buy and promote more of the delicious and special fruits that grow right alongside our durians.

This is a Mail Order Fruit Package – you can buy durian online and it ships anywhere in the USA, Canada, & Europe 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Snake fruit is somewhat intimidating given the name and the scaly outer shell. One must flake away these scales to get to the inner fruit, but doing so is not difficult and the reward is a delicious, sweet and tender white fruit surrounding a seed. it’s not pungent. If you are looking for something new to try or a fruit to liven up your next party, you’ll enjoy snake fruit!

      * I had the J33 Nangka Madu Jackfruit 400g for the first time recently and am disappointed in myself that I waited this long to try this delightful fruit. It’s as sweet as mango with a texture similar to lychee. My only complaint is that it’s so delicious my son ate it all before me!
