- A led tasting of 10 varieties of durians local to Penang Island ordered chronologically as they appear in the development of durian farming and the complex history of this island.
- Cempedak and other fruits
- A cooked sampler showcasing a few Baba Nyonya recipes from Penang Island that highlights special ingredients brought from Penang just for this event. Ingredients include Daun Kadok leaves, turmeric leaves, petai (stinky bean), & nutmeg.
- A virtual tour and presentation of the island from Lindsay & Richard, your professional durian enthusiasts, and how to travel here for the best-ever durian experience.
- Q&A and general meet-and-greet

Meet Ryan and Tanda!
Ryan and Tanda started their organic farm in Maui in 2007. Passionate fruit lovers, they traveled to Borneo in 2019 and did a durian tour with us through Sabah, Brunei and Sarawak. We aligned with supporting small-scale agriculture and diversity, and in 2022 they began distributing YOTD durians in Maui. Recently, they have opened their own permanent produce market & cafe in Makawao. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate durian in their new space.

How to get to ‘Oko’a Farms
‘Oko’a Farms is located in Makawao on the island of Maui, Hawaii. The shop is located in the Longs Drug Store complex and there is plenty of free parking.
The event starts at 4:00PM, please be on time for the yumminess 😋 We expect to wrap up by 7:00PM.
Cancellation/No-show Policy
All tickets are fully transferrable, please just inform us who will be attending in your stead.
