Malaysian durians are always harvested fully ripe, after being permitted to fall.

There are officially 134 varieties of durian registered with the government, numbered D1-D200, with some registered durians missing.

The most recently registered durian is D200, Black Thorn (Ocee).

The most popular durians in Malaysia are Musang King, D24, and Red Prawn.
