This week I’m posting videos of the durian goings-on at the Woodstock Fruit Festival, the largest gathering of fruit enthusiasts and health nuts in North America and possibly the world. Here’s a clip from the week’s first durian feast – most likely the biggest collection of durian in the Western Hemisphere.

Lindsay, I've been reading your blogs with much interest. Too bad that Durian won't grow in my backyard in Southern California (well, I don't have the space anyway). So off to "99 Ranch Market" in Rowland Height I go. By the way they also sell fresh durians once in a while; but at a much higher price.
Samuel.

Hi Samuell, thanks for getting in touch! I spend a lot of time in the LA area and have gone looking for fresh durian at various 99 Ranch's before, but have never been successful. Let me know if you get lucky!

I'm from Malaysia and surely like durian. But in your video it seem durian is not really fresh

Good observation Wan! Currently, in the United States it is only possible to get large quantities of frozen durian. Hopefully that will change in the next few years!
