A fruit vendor shows off a durian at his store in Mettupalayam. Seated at the foothills of the Western Ghats, Mettupalayam is the connecting town for tourists wanting to take the Toy Train to Ooty. It’s also one of the only durian-growing regions in India. Durians are growing in popularity as an infertility treatment. This particular durian sold for 900 rupees ($15 USD) per kilogram.
